We are a small, family run farm animal rescue in Central Virginia, just south of Charlottesville, dedicated to rehabilitating, retraining & rehoming when we can, & providing lifetime sanctuary when needed. EIN# 83-3274681
I was a horse-girl in utero and never lost the bug, so we started out with just horses, but quickly discovered that farm animals of all kinds were in need of help. Now we are home to horses, mules, donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, rabbits and any number of different fowl species, from chickens to geese and everywhere in between. We work with a core group of volunteers, but always welcome more, and partner with local Animal Control and Law Enforcement when needed in order to assist with community rescue efforts.
We exist entirely with the help of generous supporters like yourself. As a small rescue we don’t have the manpower, or meet the requirements, for most of the very limited grants that are available. So we make the most out of everything that we have. We’ve become masters at recycling and reusing all manner of resources.
In addition to monetary donations, we accept donations-in-kind of anything that we can use on the farm (fence posts, wire, horse blankets and tack, buckets, feeders, nails, lumber) or that we can sell in our annual blanket and tack sale. Rest assured, anything that you are kind enough to donate or gift to us gets the very last ounce of usefulness squeezed out of it.
As you might expect, our biggest expense is feed, both grain and hay, an veterinary bills. We understand that its difficult to trust where your donation is going, so if you prefer call our feed supplier directly and add to our account (Most of our feed is purchased from Blue Ridge Farmers Coop in Charlottesville – 434-296-6191) or take a look at our Chewy wish list (linked below), you can select exactly what products you support us with. Either way, anything you are kind enough to send our way is tax deductible and we are happy to provide a receipt at your request.
